As he continues to make the rounds with his latest single “Hawai,” Maluma debuted at No. 10 on the Hot Latin Songs chart dated August 15, marking his 12th No. 10.
In “Hawai,” released on July 29, the Colombian superstar sings about a relationship that couldn’t work out. With lyrics such as “I know it’s going great but he’s not going to love you as I love you,” the song can easily become a song for that ex that you still love.
The music video shows Maluma arguing with his girlfriend, breaking up, a confrontation at her wedding with another man and a surprising plot twist.
“It’s amazing to see how much people are embracing this song that it is quickly becoming a solid hit single!” Maluma previously told Billboard. “I can’t thank my fans enough for this.”
The romantic urban bop, co-written by Maluma alongside Keityn, Edgar Barrera, and Bull Nene and produced by Rude Boy, is the first single off Papi Juancho, Maluma’s fifth studio album due out later this year.
