Becky G scores her first No. 1 — and first entry — on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart as Esquemas, her sophomore studio album, arrives at the summit. The 14-track set leads the May 28-dated ranking with 11,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. after its first tracking week ending in May 19, according to Luminate.
Esquemas, released May 13 via Kemosabe/RCA, traces 10,000 of its units to streaming activity, while the remaining 1,000 comprises traditional album sales and song download sales. The 10,000 deriving from streaming data, represents 14.42 million U.S. on-demand official streams of Esquemas’ songs. That’s the second-best week in 2022 for a Latin pop album, trailing only the debut of Rosalía’s Motomami which generated 19.37 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks.
The Latin Pop Albums chart ranks the most popular Latin pop albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.
Esquemas becomes Becky G’s first entry on Latin Pop Albums. It concurrently debuts at No. 5 on Top Latin Albums, where her 2019 debut album Mala Santa bowed and peaked at No. 3 with 8,000 total units. (While Mala Santa did not chart on Latin Pop Albums, it did reach No. 3 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart.)
As Esquemas arrives, it debuts one song, “Bailé Con Mi Ex,” on the Hot Latin Songs chart, which blends airplay, streams, and digital downloads. The new recruit, combined with the three pre-release singles, have all made it onto the all-metric tally, including her first and only No. 1. “Mamiii,” with Karol G, became Becky’s first leader on Hot Latin Songs and topped the survey for 10 weeks. On the current ranking, it earns the Greatest Gainer/Sales honors and sits at No. 7, pushed down by five songs from Bad Bunny and one other Karol G track.
Here’s a recap:
Track, Artist (if other than Becky G), Peak Position, Peak Date
“Ram Pam Pam,” with Natty Natasha, No. 12, June 5, 2021
“Fulanito,” with El Alfa, No. 24, June 19, 2021
“Mamiii,” with Karol G, No. 1, Feb. 26 (10 weeks atop)
“Bailé Con Mi Ex,” debuts at No. 50, May 28
Notably, “Bailé Con Mi Ex,” the album’s only debut on the current chart, represents just Becky G’s fourth entry unaccompanied by any other act among a collection of 24 entries. The track concurrently earns Becky her 22nd top 10 on Latin Digital Song Sales as it opens at No. 10. That’s the third-most among women, just behind Karol G and Shakira’s 23 top 10s.
Further, Esquemas is just the seventh album by a female artist to debut in the penthouse on Latin Pop Albums in the past five years. Here are the other six:
Shakira, El Dorado, June 17, 2017
Gloria Trevi & Alejandra Guzmán, Versus, July 22, 2017

Thalia, Valiente, Nov. 24, 2018
Selena Gómez, Revelación, March 27, 2021
