BTS’ ‘Dynamite’ Explodes In U.K. to Lead Chart Race

BTS’ “Dynamite” is blowing up in the U.K.

The K-pop superstars make an explosive start with “Dynamite,” which notches 1.7 million streams in its first 48 hours, according to the Official Charts Company.

The track leads the Official Chart: First Look, with a lead of 1,700 chart sales on Joel Corry & MNEK’s “Head & Heart,” based on the weekend’s sales and streaming activity.

If it stays put, “Dynamite” would be the boy band’s first No. 1 U.K. single, and their first Top 10 entry.

“Dynamite” is BTS’ English-language debut, and it’s already a record-breaker.

The accompanying music video counted 101.1 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of its release, for the biggest first-day opening ever on the streaming platform.

BTS has three Top 40 singles, none higher than the No. 13 peak for their 2019 collaboration with Halsey, “Boy With Luv”.

The Korean septet have two chart-topping albums in the U.K, with Map Of The Soul: Persona and Map Of The Soul: 7 and a total of six Top 40 entries on the Official U.K. Albums Chart.

The Official U.K. Singles Chart is published late Friday.
