BTS Open Up About the ‘Positive Vibes’ of New English-Language Single ‘Dynamite’

BTS delivered “Dynamite” on Friday (Aug. 21), and chatted with Apple Music ahead of the single’s release to dish about the sunny new English-language track.

“This is ‘Dynamite’ — made of positive vibes, energy, hope, love, the purity, everything,” RM said in the interview. “Recording this song was really fun, and like Jin said, we’re going through difficult times so we tried to have more fun working on this song. We made this song in hopes of giving energy to the listeners. We’re glad this song turned out great and hope a lot of our fans can listen to it to receive the positive energy we tried to incorporate in the song.”

Described by the band as having a “70s-80s vibe,” the video for “Dynamite” finds the K-pop idols dancing their way through a donut shop, basketball court, record store and more while dressed in distinctly vintage styles.

BTS also dished during the chat about the process of recording their upcoming fifth studio album, which will serve as a follow-up to 2020’s Map of the Soul: 7.

“We’re really in the middle of the process, getting tracks, writing lyrics and recording some raps and vocals,” they revealed to host Zane Lowe. “So, you know, it’s going to be… One thing that is sure is that we go to release in this year, so it’s not going to be so late. You won’t be disappointed. Yep, coming out of this year… We’re doing our best as always so we can bring better results. We participated more this time around. A lot of our members participated in the production process so you can really look forward to it.”
