John Mayer Signs With CAA – Billboard


John Mayer has signed with CAA for representation in all areas. The singer-songwriter and guitarist most recently released Sob Rock, his 2021 album produced by himself and Don Was. Mayer’s eighth studio album, Sob Rock hit No. 1 on the Hot Rock Albums and placed No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Over the course of his career that launched with 2001’s Room For Squares, Mayer has landed 15 career entries on the Billboard 200, including 10 top 10s and three No. 1s: Heavier Things, Battle Studies and Born And Raised, according the Luminate. He holds the record for second most entries on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart for a solo male artist – behind only Machine Gun Kelly – with 34 hits. He also has five No. 1s on the Americana/Folk Albums chart, tied with Brandi Carlile and Neil Young for the second-most after Bob Dylan who has eight.

Mayer has garnered seven Grammy Awards including Song of the Year for “Daughters” in 2004. The Bridgeport, Conn. native has been nominated for 19 Grammys all together.

As a solo touring artist, Mayer has grossed $334.4 million and sold just under 6 million tickets from 624 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. In 2015, the band Dead & Company was founded with former members of the Grateful Dead and Mayer on lead guitar and vocals. The group has been a successful touring machine since its inception, grossing $295.3 million with 2.9 million tickets sold.
