Paramore Announces ‘Almost a Remix’ Album of ‘This Is Why’ – Rolling Stone

Paramore is celebrating the first anniversary of their album This Is Why with a revisit.

On Monday, the Hayley Williams-fronted group announced that Paramore will release LP Re: This Is Why, which they described as an “almost a remix album” version of the album they dropped last year, on Oct. 6.

“We’ve long wanted to recognize the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence,” the band posted on social media. “Re: This Is Why is almost a remix album.”

“Some of the songs have been remixed sort of classically, while others were reworked or rewritten,” the group continued. “It’s incredible to hear all our worlds colliding.”

In the post’s Instagram comments, the Paramore account wrote, “+1 b-side,” implying the addition of a new song to the project.

Last week, the group shared a Notes app screen recording teasing three dates: “This Is Why” on Sept. 28, which marked the first anniversary of the 2022 album’s title track, “Why Is This?” on Oct. 2, seemingly teasing the album announcement, and “Is This Why?” on Oct. 6, when the LP is expected to drop.

Paramore announced the album last year, which they said was “such a cool experiment” for the group.

In late August, Williams revealed that the group was back in the studio after she canceled toured dates due to a lung infection. “Zac Taylor and I just want to get back to making things,” the singer added. “We’ve been craving that for a while now. Not only the creative process but the layer(s) of insulation that can come with the creative process.”

The singer also gave fans a health update. “I can hardly believe I don’t cough all day and night anymore. My stomach is still f—– from 10 kinds of medication… I’m just happy to be resting more,” Williams wrote at the time.
