Serum was an absolute game-changer in the world of sound design when it came out. And Serum 2, released in early 2025, pushed the envelope even further. However, finding Serum 2 presets can be tricky.
And even though we encourage people to design their own sounds, sometimes you just want some good presets to get you started.
In this post, I’ve filtered through the entire web and gathered the best free and paid Serum 2 preset packs for all the major genres of electronic music such as Hard Techno, Hyperpop and Liminal Ambient. Let’s go!

Before You Get Started
Before you go spending hundreds of dollars on Serum 2 presets, it’s worth exploring what you already.
By this, I mean that you probably already have access to a ton of Serum 2 presets, even without knowing it.
First, let’s look at the presets that Serum 2 already ships with:
- Serum 2 comes with close to 700 presets already loaded in
- It also features all of Serum 1’s presets which are forward compatible (several more hundreds of presets)
Some of these presets were designed by renowned producers and sound engineers including Alice Efe, SynthHacker, Virtual Riot and more.
So before going out to buy the most expensive packs out there, I would spend a bit of time browsing the stock presets. Only if you’re sure you’re not finding what you want should you start looking elsewhere.
The next step is to check the subscriptions you already have: Splice, Loopcloud etc.
These platforms usually have a dedicated section for synth presets. On Splice, simply select “Presets” in the Browse section, then go to “Serum 2” and click on View all:
Here, you can filter further by genre, type of sound (pads, leads etc.):
As you can see, you already have access to 815 presets right here on Splice. And while your subscription might not cover downloading all of these at once, it’s worth browsing through these before spending your hard-earned cash elsewhere.

Multigenre Serum 2 Presets
Let’s start off with some non-genre-specific packs that can be used in a multitude of different styles. These are great starting points for instant inspiration.
