The pocket-sized, inexpensive NTS-1 mkII synth and NTS-3 kaoss pad now get three more beloved effects, giving you that Sinevibes sound on the go. In this round: Albedo v2 granular cloud reverb, Corrosion v3 multi-algorithm distortion, Vibrant “deep” phaser.
The Hand of Artemiy descends from the heavens (or, erm, from behind the camera anyway) – and mmmmmmm this sounds nice:
There’s some great stuff in these updates – think desktop-grade effects quality, true stereo, and more controllable parameters:
Albedo v2 granular cloud reverb now has 16 grains per channel (32 grains in total), true stereo, smooth grain size changes, and continuous grain speed and detuning adjustment. And there’s a reverse switch. If that sounds familiar, it’s because the added horsepower on the new KORG hardware / ‘logue SDK puts the mobile KORG version here in line with the same DSP engine in the desktop plug-in versions of the same.
Corrosion v3 now has an extra-steep anti-aliasing filter for better sound quality, and aligns with the desktop version’s 15 awesome distortion types, including Sinevibe originals like triangle clip, parabolic, and symmetry warp. Plus you get dry/wet mix and noise gate sensitivity now.
Vibrant deep phaser is in lush true stereo at last, with dry/wet mix and modulation stereo width parameter controls.
Deep. (The unseen hand of Artemiy):
Let’s do the math. The KORG NTS-3 kaoss pad or the NTS-1 mkII digital synth each cost $169.99 USD. They’re both in stock, too, and shipping immediately now; I think that wasn’t true when I first wrote these up. Then pick up one of these plug-ins at just $19 each – or as a free update, if you own one of Sinevibes’ KORG plug-ins already. Weight: 119 grams (just over 4 oz) for the NTS-3, and you can run off USB power. That’s one seriously economical, affordable multi-effects solution you can customize yourself. This kind of stuff just makes me really happy.
I’m really curious to see if anyone takes KORG up on the physical modification possibilities here – see the 3D data for the NTS-3, for instance. And of course you can let Artemiy inspire you and try some of your own work with the logue SDK.

Go get those cute little KORG boxes. Even I seriously need to pick this up. (This is a new form of affiliate advertising where I just start talking to myself and convincing myself to get gear. Though… still, disclosure…)

Just don’t accidentally buy this NTS-3 or you could wind up owing some billions of dollars. Not the same NTS-3.
